Just as the constant increase of entropy is the basic law of the universe, so it is the basic law of life to be ever more highly structured and to struggle against entropy.

visuvio: enhance
In 2021 we started to found Visuvio with our product Enhance: a software to easily magnify and analyze motion in high-speed camera footage.
We received the EXIST state funding and finalized the software, and I gained a lot of experience in product and business development along the way.
das shining
Creativity was always a big topic and outlet for me. With Das Shining I became part of an art collective to pursue it. We're a group of interdisciplinary media and computer experts who studied media informatics together in Tübingen before expanding into other academic fields.
We've worked on various installations, did performances and developed tools such as ParaSpace, which gives artists an easier way to include the (remote) audience.
codevember (e.V.)
We all have been passionate programmers or, if not, passionate about something else. Sadly, the daily routine often leaves no freedom to free your mind and play around with the things you like. With this in mind, we started the Codevember project. From this year on, the event is called Creative Days by Codevember e.V.
I was one of the main organizers and founding members of our club, Codevember e.V. I did a lot of voluntary work to keep the event alive: founding the club, marketing, development and PR.
portfolio-games
Side projects, a hackathon hit and game jam leftovers.
neon racer (working title)
A synthwave/outrun styled arcade racer. Work in progress.
My personal side project since mid 2022, in which I work in all roles of the product and development process. It arose from playing around with (arcade) car physics, Bézier curve based track generation and a lot of user interface and shader tests.
underwatch
A simple game about light and shadows and a rat escaping a dystopian lab environment. Our first breakthrough title with the Codevember collective, with over 400,000 downloads.
My part was the lead development role, most of the level design and storytelling, as well as the releases in the app stores and the WebGL version.
Most of the assets were modelled by Mitja Öhm, and Benedikt Beuttler did a lot of the animation work, cleanups and store pages.
Ember - a game about a spark
TBD
Project Riot
A small multiplayer wave defense game with some unique twists.
More to come, stay tuned.
smaller game jam entries
I enjoy participating in game jams and playing around with new technologies and engine features. Most of the games don't end up as something actually playable, but some can be found on my itch.io page, like the two player tower defense game "Path defender" or the few hour jam game "Seaside shells".
Tools
An overview over small web tools for different use cases
somedailywords.
Mindfulness and self-care are big buzzwords nowadays, but sometimes small tools can help us to reset the focus and release stress. With SomeDailyWords I filled a gap I was searching for back in 2017.
It's free to register and free to use.
Week planner
Loosing sight of what is important this week? No matter if professionally or private: perform a short check-in and at the end of the week reflect, what you were up to and what identified as an issue. The data only lies in your browser, nothing is send to a server.
Bonus: Identify trends in your goals and development
Jamjamber
Often one is not finding the time or muse to do creative stuff regularly. With this little project we try to open a small window everyday (like 15 min) to create something nice: Create a Snippet or Track a day - no matter if you're using analog or digital instruments, you're beatboxing, just writing lyrics or singing. Share your progress with our crowd.
The tooling provides a simple option to ananymously upload self-created sound files and share them in the scope of a jam event. Prior participation can be shown in the archive.

Cadence
A roadmap planning tool for projects using multiple teams such as implemented the SAFe® framework.
Cadence lays out roadmap items, requirements, and research work across Product Increments (PIs), with capacity and long-term strategy alongside. A quick tour of what’s here — and who can edit what:
Roadmap
Roadmap items span one or more PIs and show which teams they affect. Switch between Swimlanes (one lane per team) and Packed (everything on one timeline), and drag a bar to reschedule it or change its priority. Items with no PI yet sit in the Backpack panel until you’re ready to schedule them.
Requirements
A parallel board for requirement and research items, organized by Requirement Engineer instead of team. Each item moves through its own configurable stages, and can link to a roadmap item — or, for research items, to a requirement item — so related work stays connected.
Capacity
See allocated person-days against each team’s capacity, per PI — a cell turns amber or red as a team approaches or exceeds capacity.
Strategy
A 5-year timeline of dated targets, grouped under a short theme for each year.

Trip planner
It is always tricky to organize a group of various people - especially, when it revolves around the topic of holidays. For this, I build a tool, which we are using in our friend group.
Easy to set up
Copy over the files, enter the trip name and rough data and send the link to your friends. The trip will be password proteced, but besides that, there is no further authentication needed.
What it offers
Besides a list of people (what they eat, don't eat and additional information), there is a collection of activities, a time table, a route organization/arrival planner, a shopping list and a expense calculation tool - so basically, everything you need to keep the organizational part as small as possible.
Note: This is a private tool. If you're interested, let me know.
Self reflection workshop tooling
It is sometimes tricky to find the time and the right frame for one self to actually dive deeper into the self reflection in terms of personal needs, visions and routines.
Guidance through the right questions
For this, I've build a simple workshop tool to get a better understanding what the current major points that are in one's mind. It provides a bunch of questions, summarizes your outcome and provides a helpful prompt to reflect the topics worth working on.

about
Hi, I'm Mathias, from the beautiful south of Germany. I started out as a software engineer and, over the years, also became interested in what we build and for whom.
Since 2023 I've been at DACHSER, first as product owner, now as lead of the product development team for the DACHSER platform. I work on product and technical questions together, not one after the other.
The years before were spent closer to the engine room: web, Android, Unity. In between I co-founded Visuvio, where we made invisible motion visible in high-speed camera footage.
What remains of the engineer is the urge to make things for their own sake. I organize Creative Days by Codevember e.V., our yearly hackathon, and I'm part of the art collective
Das Shining.
